I developed a two-day curriculum for PGY-1 and -2 orthopedic surgery residents just starting to take trauma call. Emphasis was proper evaluation of injured patients, correct splinting techniques, and skills sessions in applying cervical tongs, placing skeletal traction pins, and performing fasciotomies.
